Hey everyone:

I wanted to invite you to come to MOSAIC for the next 4 Thursdays, beginning this week at 7:00pm.  I am beginning a brief series on self-esteem entitled, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?  It's a throw-back to my childhood days: I can't tell you how many times I heard that question.  But, I was usually doing something wrong that merited such a remark.  I want to use that question to evaluate exactly what you and I think of ourselves.

As a Christ-follower, I believe the most important thoughts that we have concern God.  I have often used this statement by A.W. Tozer: "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us."  And that's true.

But I believe God cares deeply about what we think of ourselves as well.  God puts us on this earth to accomplish good things.  He places us here to experience great joy and bring joy to others.  So, what we think about who we are DOES matter.  The problem is, many of us have carried around some unhealthy and unproductive thoughts about who we are.  They seldom get confronted - we've accepted the opinions of others (you're no good, you can't do anything right, you're worthless) as almost gospel truth.

It is said that man (and woman) has three primary questions that need to be answered: WHO AM I? WHY AM I HERE? WHERE AM I GOING?  How you and I answer those 3 questions has everything to do with what kind of life we live.  I would like to take just 4 weeks to tackle those 3 questions and put all of us on the right path for effective living.

I hope you will allow me to invest this time in your life.  We will kick off the evening with praise and worship through music.  Then, I will teach on this very important subject.  You will be left with one idea this Thursday, March 26th.  Here it is: YOU CAN RECORD OVER OLD TAPES!

Let's begin to put new thoughts into our heads and our hearts and live differently.  See you Thursday.
