Hey everyone:

Those of you who have been around for a while may remember Ted Rattle, a dear friend of our ministry.  Ted went home to be with the Lord last Thursday night.  We just got word that his son, Ron, passed away this morning in the Colden area.

Keep Ted’s daughter in prayer.

We have no details about arrangements for either passing yet.  We will let you know if we do hear.

Last week, I was going to write about God's Grace, but during my time spent reading the Bible on Tuesday morning, I was led down the path that I eventually wrote about (Sin's Target; see last Tuesday's entry).  Then on Wednesday, I read Pastor Jerry's blog (jerrygillis.com), and I realized that I could do no better.  His entry called "Grace That's Not (Just) For Me" is about the best summary of God's Grace that you could read in about 3 minutes.  I read a lot - I mean, a lot - and I've never come across such a succinct and yet such a thorough work on Grace.  So, I figured that I should not try to re-invent the wheel and that you should read his blog by clicking HERE.  Enjoy that.

Without sounding redundant, I want to remind you about the Valentine's Dinner that will be on February 12, 2009, at 6:30pm.  If you want to get your ticket for $6, you must do so either this Thursday night (February 5) from Joe or this Sunday (February 7) at the MOSAIC table in the atrium.  After Sunday, the price will skyrocket to a whopping $8.  Consider this: if you spend the extra $2 on every dinner that we have this year (about 10 dinners), that is an extra $20 every year.  If you attend MOSAIC for 10 years, then you've spent an extra $200 on dinners, just because you did not get your ticket early.  Think of what you could do with $200. Now get your ticket from Joe on Thursday.
